At VEVO Lighting & Acoustics, we thrive on projects that push the boundaries of what’s possible and Softcat’s flagship London workspace was no exception. Designed to bring people together on a single, multifunctional 38,000 sq ft floorplate, the space needed to reflect Softcat’s vibrant brand personality, reflect London life and support a flexible, futureproofed way of working.
The talented interior designers at Claremont created an incredibly vibrant and innovative scheme. When it came to delivering the bespoke lighting that would bring this vision to life, no other company could match the value, technical precision or level of innovation that VEVO brought to the table.

Our Role
Working closely with Claremont’s design team, VEVO was tasked with developing a continuous, colour-changing tube lighting system that would flow through the entire space, inspired by the visual language of London’s Underground. This required far more than a standard solution: each length and curve had to be customised to suit the architectural layout exactly.
To achieve this, we used a high-performance RGB LED strip inside a slim, circular frame suspended from the ceiling. The frame’s smooth shape and diffused light made sure there was uniform light distribution and seamless integration with the rest of the design.
One of the most technically challenging aspects of the project was the requirement for fully see-through corners, a detail no other supplier could provide. These were achieved through extensive in-house testing, using custom 3D moulding, precise angle cuts and advanced assembly methods led by our specialist Rob Schofield. The result was a lighting system that could bend, curve and transition through corners without visible breaks, achieving a smooth, uninterrupted flow.
Our installation team worked on-site alongside the electrical contractor to ensure every joint and transition was flawlessly executed. In addition to the custom tube system, VEVO also supplied and installed modular linear lighting throughout the space, selected for both performance and consistency with the overall visual language.

THE Results
The finished design adds a sense of flow, energy, and connection throughout the workspace, perfectly reflecting Softcat’s culture and the vibrant city around it. The lighting plays a central role in linking different zones and functions across the floorplate, from quiet spaces and private rooms to collaborative areas and vibrant social zones.
This project is a clear example of VEVO’s ability to design, manufacture and deliver complex, bespoke lighting solutions at scale. With no off-the-shelf shortcuts and no compromise on quality, we proved once again why we’re a trusted partner for bold and innovative workplace designs.
